The starting point of this project is a field recording of a piano session coming through the walls of a practice room in a Toronto Public Library (see 32%). The sound of the piano is on the edge of audibility and its discernment becomes a focal point. Recorded from my laptop, the sound of the computer’s hard drive, the continued tapping of the keys, breathing and coughing are proximate.
